This 1983 Manta finally sold for £57,500 in the online auction – a relative bargain for such a rare homologation hero. The interior is equally eye-catching, with the Recaro seats trimmed in oh-so-70s ‘Opel Blitz’ cloth. Those steroidal wheelarches stretch over wider Ronal alloy wheels, while a jutting spoiler sits atop the bootlid. It is on its original injection as can be seen in the pics.Most spell-checkers draw a wiggly red line under the word ‘homologation’. It was parked up at the time with no mechanical issues. The engine turns over by hand but I’ve not tried to start it, there seems to be plenty compression. There are multiple panels needed including a roof skin, sills & arches, it will need other panels & repairs to the shell. The previous owner had new wings fitted many years ago but these will need replaced. ![]() It also retains its original Irmscher badged steering wheel. Although around the sunroof is holed through, the headlining is in good condition as can be seen in the pics. The interior is in good condition with no rips, tears or visible damage. There are previous MOT’s, bill of sale from previous owner & few other bits & pieces like old V5, etc. The car is standard, original & unmodified as far as I can tell. It was supplied locally from the Vauxhall Main Dealer & still has the original dealer number plates from Lawrence of Kemnay.
